Complaints to New Zealand Rugby Independent Complaints Management Service:

New Zealand Rugby has established an Independent Complaints Management Service including a phone line and online form. You can find out more about this service and the process for making complaints here:

https://www.nzrugby.co.nz/about-nzr/complaints-management-service/

What can I complain about?

  • unethical, dishonest or illegal behaviour
  • harassment (sexual or otherwise)
  • bullying
  • misconduct
  • health and safety risks
  • unlawful discrimination
  • offensive/insulting language or behaviour

Other Protests and Complaints:

The New Zealand Rugby Independent Complaints Management Service process above is not intended to apply to:

  • any on-field conduct during a match
  • selection decisions
  • eligibility
  • behaviour by members of the public (e.g. fans in a crowd) who are not connected to Rugby playing administration

Protests or complaints over the actions of individuals or member organisations in matters other than judicial proceedings but relating to the conduct of matches under the Rules relating to -;

  • Registrations
  • Classifications
  • Defaults
  • Transfers
  • Dispensations

should be made in the first instance to the Mid Canterbury Rugby Union.

Such protests or complaints must be made in writing to the Chief Executive. Such written notice must be received by the Chief Executive within seven (7) days after the date on which the action which is subject to the complaint occurred or when the complainant became aware of that action.

MCRU will then consider the complaint and make a determination on the matter. In normal circumstances, such protests and complaint will be referred to the Rugby Administration Council who are responsible for the conduct of matches in the Union boundaries.
